Love is in the heart of every person. Search for it there....

With such a theme at the very start of the movie, one would expect a melodramatic movie. Well, "Main-Main Cinta" is actually not far from it. Despite its corny-sounding title, the movie does have its share of lovey-dovey moments amidst its huge amount of lame and unconvincing humour.

"Main-Main Cinta" is about the ideal couple in a university, Farah (Misha Omar) and Adam (Adam AF2). Being perfect and everything, they often received looks of envy from their college mates especially Maya (Dynas), who also has the hots for Adam. A set up and some misunderstandings causes the couple's relationship to strain. After the truth was somehow revealed, things got better between them and a they celebrate their make-up with a song!

Sounds like a simple storyline? True, but it has numerous subplots and side stories that makes up most of the 90 minutes of the show. Together with the movie's many colourful characters, it may be a bit difficult to make out head and tail of the movie. Rest assured though as you need only focus on the film's two main stars (Farah and Adam) as the others are not really significant or memorable.

Misha's and Adam's chemistry on-sceen is not convincing enough. The female singer looks way too-much more mature than her AF2 co-star. However, their duet at the end of the movie could do justice to their unimpressive acting, but isn't that just leaving it a little too late?

Speaking of songs, the movie does have a few in it. Most of it by sung by Adam himself, his soothing voice really gives the love songs a tinge of emotion. Fans of KRU may also want to keep a lookout for a short rendition of their famous number Ooh La La in the movie.

Guys watching the movie might even get a tip or two on how to be a romantic by Adam himself. Girls would not only say 'ooh' to his looks but also 'ahh' at the way he romances Farah in the film. How many guys nowadays still sing to their girlfriends on a candlelight dinner or saying goodnight to her by climbing a ladder to her balcony (Romeo & Juliet, anyone?).

In the end, I wouldn't say this is the perfect movie to watch with your partner on Valentine's Day nor any other day for that matter. It is only okay as a romantic film and horrible as a comedy. However, the movie's soundtrack might not be too bad as it comes with lovely ballads by both Misha and Adam.
