The film tells the story of two women from different backgrounds who become good friends. Though Shirley is a 50-year-old woman, she doesn`t look that way due to the way she dresses and is proud of her beautiful appearance. Meanwhile, Ah Lian, who is also in her fifties, is a single mother and a street noodle seller who lives with her children and Alzheimer`s-suffering father. The two women often meet up and talk about their dissatisfactions in their everyday lives with their families.

Filem ini mengisahkan tentang dua wanita yang mempunyai latar belakang yang berbeza menjadi kawan baik. Walaupun Shirley berusia 50 tahun, namun dia tidak seperti usianya kerana penampilannya. Sementara Ah Lian pula, seorang ibu tunggal yang juga berusia 50 tahun, merupakan penjaja mi yang tinggal bersama ayahnya yang sakit dan anak-anaknya. Kedua-dua mereka kerap bertemu dan bercerita mengenai ketidakpuasan hati mereka terhadap hidup mereka dengan keluarga masing-masing.

The Good, the Bad and the Maternal Love:

• This is a touching movie that will definitely move even the stoniest of hearts, as the mothers and their respective families navigate through the challenges in their lives and finally learn to accept and love.

• There are many subplots cleverly interwoven throughout the movie, the editing is good as it does not make the storyline seem cluttered.

• However, there are some parts when things move too slowly and will feel like they are dragging on.

Trivia:

• Tissues were handed out in the goodie bags during the Gala Premiere because the touching movie would make the audience cry.
