Ping An is a young primary school boy who is raised by his single mother, Ping Ma. Ping Ma has never told Ping An about his father`s death and refuses to let Ping An visit his grandfather. When Ping An is required to do an artwork in school titled "My Dad", he begins to wonder about his father`s whereabouts. He keeps asking his mother, causing Ping Ma to get very annoyed. His aunt takes pity on him and takes him to see his grandfather; thus begins his journey of uncovering the truth.

Ping An adalah seorang pelajar sekolah rendah yang membesar dengan ibunya (Ping Ma) dan mak ciknya. Bagaimanapun, Ping Ma menyembunyikan mengenai kematian suaminya dan tidak membenarkan Ping An melawat datuknya. Ketika di sekolah, Ping An melukis sebuah lukisan berjudul "My Dad" dan dia mula mempersoal mengenai bapanya ke mana. Bagaimanapun, Ping Ma dan mak ciknya berdiam diri apabila ditanya di manakah bapanya berada. Ping An tidak berputus asa untuk mencari kebenaran dan ini membuatkan Ping Ma berasa tidak selesa. Mak cik Ping An kemudian telah membawanya ke rumah warga tua untuk bertemu dengan datuknya. Dari cerita yang diberitahu oleh datuknya, Ping An menganggap Ping Ma melarangnya daripada bertemu dengan bapanya. Berikutan itu, dia mula menilai orang di sekeliling Ping Ma dengan harapan dapat mencari bapanya.
