Special Forces

A group of people, mostly retirees, who are action enthusiasts, form a neighbourhood watch due to the rising crime rates. Looking after their small town, they imagine themselves to be heroes like their idols. Their dreams finally come true when a girl seeks their help.

Watch this if you liked: “Firefly”

The Good, the Bad and the "Asian Avengers":

• Though the film is somewhat predictable, it is enjoyable from the start to the end with the nicely choreographed action sequences and silly humour.

• For a local film, it has some pretty amazing fight scenes and well-edited effects.

• What's great about this film is that it deals with issues that are very relatable to Malaysians.

• It also brings to light about a community volunteer service that we have long forgotten.

• Overall, the film is a decent effort that should be recognised.

Trivia:

• The film is Frankie Lee's second feature-length film after "The Journey".
