Dukun Doktor Dani

After graduating, young doctor Dani starts working at a hospital. Unfortunately, his first ever surgery is unsuccessful and the patient passes away. Dani quits his job as a doctor and returns to his hometown. There, Dani meets the village medicine man, Dukun Sudin, who teaches him the traditional ways of medicines, herbs and healings. When Dukun Sudin passes away, Dani starts working as the village medicine man. However, when his mother falls ill, he knows it will take more than his `dukun` ways to cure her. Thus begins his struggles of returning to the world of modern medicines.
Dani, seorang doktor muda yang baru bekerja, meletak jawatan apabila pembedahan pertamanya gagal dan pesakit meninggal dunia. Dia kemudian pulang ke kampung halamannya. Di sana, dia berpakat dengan Dukun Sudin yang mana Dani menjual barang-barang yang diperlukan pesakit yang datang ke rumah dukun itu. Dani sekali lagi berdepan masalah apabila Dukun Sudin meninggal dunia dan dia terpaksa mengambil alih kerja dukun. Dalam pada itu, ibunya, Mak Siti, pula perlu menjalani pembedahan dan mahu Dani melakukan pembedahan itu. Dani dalam dilema sama ada ingin melakukannya atau tidak.

The Good, the Bad and the Medicine Man:

• We had high expectations of this film as it was directed by Sabri Yunus who is known for his valuable and artistic drama television series.

• However, the director seems to have applied some of his usual series elements into the movie.

• Although the film is actually very straightforward, it contains messages and lessons which describes the current society well.

• Not much to mention in terms of acting as the cast are made up of talented actors and actresses, but kudos to Taufik Batisah who performed so well despite having acted for the first time.

• Taufik Batisah also sings the theme song of "Dukun Doktor Dani".
