Lei Shihong, a tin-mining businessman in 1970`s Kinta Valley, takes over his grandfather`s coffee shop business in Old Town, Ipoh. With his tin-mining business going so well, Lei Shihong becomes rich. However, in late 1980s, his business begins to drop, and while many who are in the business decide to illegally work abroad, Lei Shihong decides to stay in Ipoh, work for his father and run the family business. However, one day Lei Shihong goes missing after losing a huge amount of money from a race bet and owing the loan shark. His family then has to suffer the consequences.

Lei Shihong, seorang ahli perniagaan melombong timah pada tahun 1970 di Lembah Kinta, telah mengambil alih perniagaan Old Town, kedai kopi datuknya di Ipoh. Dengan perniagaan timahnya berjalan baik, Lei Shihong menjadi kaya. Bagaimanapun, pada lewat 1980an perniagaannya merudum dan walaupun ramai yang dalam perniagaan tersebut mengambil keputusan untuk bekerja di luar negara, Lei Shihong terus menetap di Ipoh, bekerja dengan bapanya menguruskan perniagaan keluarga. Bagaimanapun, satu hari Lei Shihong menghilangkan diri selepas kalah besar dalam satu pertaruhan perlumbaan yang mana dia berhutang dengan lintah darat.
