This war film is based on the real-life events of Ops Kota Gubir I & II, where security teams from the 17 RAMD unit have ambushed several communist camps at the border of Thai-Malaysia, near Gubir, Kedah.
Filem perang ini diangkat dari kisah sebenar pada 16 April 1976 dan 15 Julai 1946 semasa Ops Kota Gubir I & II yang mana pasukan kesalamatan dari unit 17 RAMD telah menggempur beberapa kem pengganas komunis di sempadan Malaysia-Thai berhampiran Gubir di Kedah. Dalam operasi kedua menyaksikan Kapten Zainal bin Abd Rashid telah gugur selepas berjaya membunuh tiga orang pengganas komunis. Operasi tersebut telah berjaya membunuh enam daripada 15 pengganas komunis selain berjaya merampas pelbagai jenis senjata dan bom.
