9 Jul – Saiful Apek, commonly referred to as the nation's top comedian in Malaysia, has launched his own English and Malay website. Speaking at a press conference at Borneo Baruk Club, Kuala Lumpur, he welcomed fans to the website to get updated on all his projects and even leave messages for him. The simple yellow-themed site with a landing page for "a living legend... tickling thousands of hearts", has a news section dedicated to Saiful Apek and also the artistes under his label, not to mention a forum and chat room for fans. It also features an online store selling exclusive merchandise that is not available elsewhere, including t-shirts for his previous movie opposite Maya Karin "Duyung" and his upcoming movie "Shh... Dia Datang". Saiful Apek's setup, named Gitu-Gitu Productions, also aims to use the website as its business platform. It was also made known that Saiful Apek will be having roadshows through the months of July, August and October. The first leg will be on 12th July 2009 at Kuala Terengganu.
