25 Feb – TGV Cinemas phone reservation utility for movie tickets booking has been halted effective from 15 January 2011 and it is replaced by the new smartphone movie application which enables moviegoers to purchase their movie tickets using their mobile phones, as announced at TGV's website as well as confirmed by its social media pages. The implementation appears hand-in-hand with its foray into the current mobile lifestyle by enabling seats selection as well as mobile ticket purchases on smartphone apps integrated into TGV's electronic purchase system while PayPal's mobile payment services promises simple payment in just two clicks. The movie application can be downloaded to iPhones, iPads and Android devices from telco service provider, as announced during the smartphone app launch on 11 February 2011. Although this new service is limited to only Maxis line subscribers, there are already developments in place where mobile ticket purchase will be independent of mobile operators.
