Fifth Bourne film in the works

7 Aug – Universal Studios has recently announced a fifth instalment for the spy thriller franchise.

The "Bourne" film series which saw Matt Damon play the lead character in the first three movies introduced a new character in the fourth instalment, Aaron Cross, played by "The Hurt Locker" star Jeremy Renner. Renner will once again reprise his role as the genetically enhanced CIA agent in the sequel to "The Bourne Legacy".


Renner will also be reprising his role as Hawkeye in "The Avengers: Age Of Ultron" sequel.

Anthony Peckham, who is known for penning "Invictus" (2009) and "Sherlock Holmes" (2009), is slated to write the script.

The film will be a continuation from the previous film, and will explore more of Cross's storyline. without precluding a return from Damon.

In addition to the fifth "Bourne" film, Renner will be busy working on other projects such as the upcoming "The Avengers: Age Of Ultron" and the new "Mission Impossible" movie.
