15 Aug – John Green's beloved novel "The Fault in Our Stars", as many fans already know, will be turned into a feature film starring Shailene Woodley as the lead character Hazel. The role for Hazel's boyfriend, Augustus, will be played by newcoming actor Ansel Elgort. But the role of Hazel's father, however, has been the most talked about in the fan community. The author himself, John Green, had been a popular fan choice to play Hazel's dad. In February, Green even jokingly said in a YouTube video that he was open to playing the role. However, "True Blood" star Sam Tremmell has been recently tapped to play the small role instead. Tremmell plays Sam Merlotte, the bar owner and shape shifter in the popular vampire television series.
Laura Dern of "Jurassic Park" and "The Master" will play Hazel's mother and Nat Wolff from Nickelodeon's "The Naked Brothers Band" will play Gus' best friend Isaac. Josh Boone who has directed "Stuck in Love" will take on the film to direct. "The Fault in our Stars" is about cancer-struck teen Hazel who is forced to mingle in a Cancer Kid Support Group, where she meets Augustus Waters who changes her life completely. Sam Tremmell will also star in "Deadweight", "White Rabbit", "Things People Do" and "The Aftermath".
