9 Jan – Fairly new actor Evan Jonigkeit, who has starred in "Calendar Girl" and "The Gift", has revealed that he will be starring alongside a wide list of great actors in "X-Men: Days of Future Past" as Toad. Jonigkeit revealed the news during a recent premiere of HBO's "Girls" which stars his girlfriend Zosia Mamet. Fans of the "X-Men" film franchise will recall Toad playing a significant supporting role in the original "X-Men" movie way back in 2000, when the role was played by "Heroes" actor Ray Park. Jonigkeit didn't want to give away too much for his role but he did mention an origin story-type deal, "X-Men fans will know that Ray Park played him in the first movie, so it's a generation story of how he came to be. It's really cool."
When it came to what the new, younger Toad will look like, Jonigkeit explains how he will look significantly different than Park's version, "The aesthetics of the character are much different, and I'm not really allowed to say a whole lot more than that. It's darker. I would say it (has) a darker tone." "X-Men: Days of Future Past" also stars Sir Patrick Stewart, Sir Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry, Nicholas Hoult, Ellen Page, Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, Adan Canto, and a host of other talented stars. The film will be expected to screen in May this year.
