29 Jan – Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) starts off the New Year with the opening of their latest GSC cinema at Nu Sentral Mall, located at the KL Sentral station at Kuala Lumpur. With a total seating capacity of 1,783 which includes 22 wheelchair spaces, the 11-screen multiplex in Nu Sentral is now the fourth GSC cinema in Kuala Lumpur and it comes fully equipped with Dolby Atmos, Dolby 5.1 and Dolby 7.1 sound system as well as a THX Certified hall complete with Dolby Atmos at Hall 3.
"GSC NU Sentral customers will enjoy clarity with the fully digitalised cinema halls and an immersive cinema-going experience in the THX-certified Hall 3 which is further enhanced with the new Dolby Atmos revolutionary audio technology which transports cinema-goers into an extraordinary entertainment '3D' sound experience," said CEO of GSC, Ms. Koh Mei Lee at the launch today.
There will be on-ground movie-themed activities held for upcoming movies such as "Jupiter Ascending", "Kingsman: The Secret Service", "Dragon Blade" and "Project Almanac". There will also be "Avengers" cosplay and happy clowns special appearances from now until 3 February and also on 7 8 February 2015. Before officially launching, GSC Nu Sentral had opened its doors to the public on 24 January 2015 with free screenings of last year's blockbuster movies.
GSC now has a total of 263 digital screens in 30 locations across Malaysia. Other new GSC Cinemas planned for this year are; GSC Ipoh Parade on 5 February, followed by GSC IOI City Mall, Putrajaya, GSC Klang Parade and GSC Aman Sentral in Alor Setar.
