CO Movie Day: "Runner, Runner"

Our winners are excited to watch "Runner, Runner"!

26 Sep – This week, Cinema Online and Tupai winners won movie passes to watch the highly anticipated "Runner, Runner", which pits actors Justin Timberlake and Ben Affleck against each other. Timberlake plays Richie Furst, a Princeton student who is cheated out of his tuition money after playing online poker on the site Midnight Black. When he learns that the site is hosted from a remote island location on Costa Rica, he goes to confront the site's corrupt owner, Ivan Block (Affleck), but is lured into becoming Ivan's protégé and right-hand man. Their relationship starts to reach a boiling point all while an FBI agent, Zbysko (Anthony Mackie), tries to use Richie to bring Ivan down.

Timberlake and Affleck are bringing sexy back to film in this scene from "Runner, Runner".

The film is directed by Brad Furman, who is known for his work on "The Lincoln Lawyer" and "The Take", and is written by David Levien and Brian Koppelman who wrote "Ocean's Thirteen" and "Walking Tall". Produced at the cost of USD 30 million, the film is distributed by 20th Century Fox. The movie is definitely going all in in terms of cast and production, but is its hand a winning one? Read on to find out what our winners thought about the film!

Susanna Tang: I rate the movie 4/5 stars. Great! I enjoyed it!

Christina Lee: I rate the movie 3/5 stars. Pleasant but not what I expect it to be.

Yaw Wai : I rate it 3/5! A little bit lacking, a little bit dry. I was hoping for more but it was still enjoyable. Since it has been a long time since we have last seen Justin Timberlake and Ben Affleck in action. The cast has done their best, just that the storyline is a big factor causing it to feel dry.
