25 Sep – With the success of last year's blood donation drive, MBO Cinemas partners up with St John Ambulance of Malaysia once again to host Blood Donation Drive 2.0. The event will take place this 31 October and 1 November at 25 MBO Cinemas locations nationwide, with National Blood Centre (PDN) staff to be assisted by St John Ambulance of Malaysia during the drive from 12pm until 6pm. Blood donors will be treated to goodie bags filled with limited edition movie merchandise, a cinema ticket, food, drinks and pharmaceutical gifts. Last year, Blood Donation Drive 1.0 was able to collect 2,168 bags of blood and contributed them to PDN. "1 Pint Saves 3 Lives", the campaign tagline said, and indeed it was able to help more than 6,000 people. MBO Cinemas has employed promising artiste Zen Jun Qian to star as Gigi the Vampiress, the ambassador for this year's campaign. Gigi is also the sister to last year's ambassador, Taring the vampire kid.
