6 Nov – The latest news from the studio Merah Maya Motion Pictures, producer of the upcoming mega actioner "Ransan", is that the filming of the movie, which was due to begin next week, has been delayed according to the director Raja Mukhriz. As to the reason leads to the delay, the director-writer-cinematographer of "Ransan" explained: "There is a funding and sponsorship issue. The filming set demands a wide range of products and branding to fit a fictional city, named after the movie title". "Logically, a city would have various business premises; and to date, the sponsorship deals that we have confirmed only include fast food chain KFC, Old Town Kopitiam and few others. If we proceed with the resources that we have now, it won't turn up as desired. It doesn't make sense for a city to have a single bank or just one cafe. Thus, the marketing unit of Merah Maya is working their hearts out on the sponsorship deal from organisations and corporations".
He continued: "I want the movie to be a fine piece. To achieve that, I have to be meticulous on every single aspect of the movie including the filming set. As for now, we won't start until we assemble the sponsorships needed according to the story. I realise it will be time consuming but I'd rather wait instead of simply making a film that I won't be happy with".
