Heard of Momok The Movie?

4 Aug – A little known horror-comedy will play in cinemas for Hari Raya season – "Momok The Movie".

This local effort will star 'Akademi Fantasia 4' winner Faizal and also Nabil of TV's 'Raja Lawak' fame, together with veteran thespians Datuk Aziz Sattar and Ruminah Sidek.

It is also one of the few local movies that has an aggressive online campaign through an official website and blog, not to mention social networking sites such as Facebook and Myspace. It has already set off on a nationwide roadshow, the most recent being at Karnival Rakan Muda in Batu Pahat, Johor. It will also be part of the upcoming Malaysian Film Festival in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

According to director M. Jamil ("Thermometer III", "Warna-Warna Hati"), he was inspired to shoot "Momok" after attending the famous ghost exhibition at Muzium Negara in 2003.
