"I've won a Hyundai Avante!"

Mr. Yap Loong Shan, the proud owner of a Hyundai Avante 2.0!

30 Dec – It was the prize of the year for 22-year-old Yap Loong Shan as he won himself a brand new Hyundai Avante 2.0 together with a one year GSC VIP Movie Pass yesterday, during the "GSC Mid Valley 10th Anniversary Contest" grand finale. "I woke up late this morning with a cold and never once thought of actually winning the car! I had only hoped for winning Gold Class tickets at least. This is so unexpected and I'm very happy!," said the young Sabahan.

Currently majoring in Computing Security at UCTI, the youngest of four siblings added, "I don't have a car of my own, so normally my friends would have to drive me around. But with this car, I'm definitely going to repay the favour and drive them around instead!" A self-confessed movie lover, this young lad underwent a series of questionnaires together with nine other finalists to take home over RM170,000 worth of prizes.

The 10 finalists, shortlisted from thousands of participating SMS entries received, were first put to trial on their memory skills after being treated to a screening of Oscar winning movie, "Departures". A range of easy to difficult questions about the movie and GSC Mid Valley were posed, whereby contestants were eliminated upon a wrong answer given until only three finalists remained. The three finalists would then have to list down as many movie titles that are currently playing at GSC Mid Valley. Being a frequent visitor to the cinema, Yap Loong Shan had no problems with the challenge which earned himself the grand prize worth over RM100,000.
