14 Jul – The artists behind Taiwanese rom-com "Au Revoir Taipei", director Arvin Chen, actress Amber Kuo and actor Jack Yao will be in Singapore from 23 to 25 July 2010 to promote the movie as well as to celebrate Cathay's 75th Anniversary.
According to distributor Cathay-Keris Films Singapore, The Taiwanese trio will attend the "Au Revoir Taipei" gala premiere on 24 July (Saturday) at The Cathay, as well as be involved in several 75th Anniversary promotional events and activities there. Set to release islandwide on 29 July, it is yet to be known if this film will release in Malaysia.
Winning Best Asian Film Award at the Berlin International Film Festival 2010, "Au Revoir Taipei" is a love story between Kai (Jack Yao) and Susie (Amber Kuo) who works in a bookshop. When his girlfriend dumps him over the phone, Kai decides to fly to Paris. He goes to a real estate agent who doubles up as a gangster, asking for help to get to Paris. Kai is asked to deliver a package in return for the favour, which sets up a chase that unfolds over one night in Taipei.
