6 Oct – Brothers Danny and Oxide Pang's latest horror thriller "The Child's Eye", touted as the Asia's first digital 3D horror film, recruits some of the hottest young stars in Asia, such as Rainie Yang, Shawn Yue, Elanne Kong and veteran star Lam Ka-Tung.
In a recent interview, the cast talks about strange happenings during their shoot in Thailand. Shawn Yue ("Love In A Puff", "Reign Of Assassins") revealed that he was haunted by a ghost during his stay in a Thailand hotel. "I'm actually bolder than the others, since I tell ghost stories to the production staff. One night while I was sleeping, I felt someone was watching me. I couldn't sleep, the only thing I did was to scold the ghost: "Get lost! I want to sleep! Don't disturb me!" I woke up the next day drenched in cold sweat."
On the other hand, Rainie Yang ("Merry Go Round", "Spiderlilies") admits that she's terrified of supernatural beings. "I'd bring a small Buddha statue and put it close to my heart. It makes me feel much more secure." She also disclosed director Oxide Pang's 'unusual' methods in making her express intense fear during the shoot. "He would come up to me and hold my nose to stop me from breathing. The he'd instruct me to kick him when I couldn't take it anymore. I did what I was told, but he didn't let go! I kicked and kicked with all my might, only for him to release my nose. In the end, he managed to film my terrified expression."
Shot in Thailand, the story is set during the political uprising and airport closure in November 2008. Rainie and her friends were unable to return home after their holiday. Renting a room in a shabby hotel, strange things start to happen after they checked in the hotel.
"The Child's Eye" will open in cinemas on 14 October 2010.
