13 Dec – "The Chronicles Of Narnia: Voyage Of The Dawn Treader" easily sailed past last week's chart topper "Rapunzel: A Tangled Tale" in Singapore, Malaysia and United States when it debuted over the weekend just gone (9-12 Dec).
Debuting tepidly in second was "The Tourist" with US$17 million. The film was stronger than "Duplicity", slightly better than "Killers" and lower than "Knight & Day", among comparable titles, but was far less than many recent pictures from Depp and Jolie, reports Box Office Mojo.
Meanwhile in Malaysia, Mamat Khalid's "Zombi Kampung Pisang" horror-comedy sequel, "Hantu Kak Limah Balik Rumah" managed to garner a solid opening with RM1.8 million as of yesterday, distributor Tayangan Unggul confirms.
Among other lesser releases that opened in Singapore are "Let Me In", "Sammy's Adventures: The Secret Passage", "Doraemon Movie: Nobita's Mermaid Legend", "Box!" and "The Fourth Portrait", while Malaysia include "My Soul To Take", "Viruthagiri" and "No Problem".
