20 Nov – Due to the success of "Ops Kossa Dappa" and "Ops Kossa Dappa 2", director K. Annan is now working on his next Tamil project in the series, titled "4S Ops Kossa Dappa - The Final Dappa", which will be released in the first quarter of 2012.
The first movie, "Ops Kossa Dappa" was released straight-to-VCD, but the second, "Ops Kossa Dappa" was launched at a hotel in Kuala Lumpur, and managed to set a record in the Malaysia Book of Records for having the highest number of stars, which is 50, who appeared in the movie. "4S Ops Kossa Dappa - The Final Dappa" will see release in Malaysia's cinemas, marking the first Malaysian-made Tamil movie in full-flash to be released in 35mm. Following his achievement in his "Ops Kossa Dappa 2", various leading actors and artistes of Chinese and Malay descent from Malaysia will make a special appearance along with stars from Mediacorp and India. Some of the names announced are Afdlin Shauki ("Nasi Lemak 2.0"), Fasha Sandha ("Cicakman 2: Planet Hitam"), Lakshmi Rai ("Chattambinadu"), Amber Chia ("Seed of Darkness"), and Malaysian model-actress, Jasmine. The stars from India are actors Kadhal Dhandapani, Nantha, Sarath Kumar, and actress Raja Elya. Shooting for the movie will begin on 28 December this year, while the official launch schedule is expected to on Feb 2012 in Chennai. The launch will involve an audio and clip premiere as well as stars' appearances. The movie will be distributed and produced by SSK Resources Sdn. Bhd. in Malaysia. SSK Resources Sdn. Bhd. is also eyeing for the movie's distribution in Singapore by Cathay Cineplexes, although a partnership has yet to be confirmed.
