31 Oct – Following the success of "Nasi Lemak 2.0", controversial rapper-film director Wee Meng Chee, also known as Namewee, already has plans for another film, according to Daily Chilli.

So far, only the production date has been set, which is to be around the Chinese New Year period in January of next year.

The 28-year-old has, however, yet to decide on a theme.

"I have written a few stories but don't know which I will choose to film next," Wee said.

A suggestion was made to Wee to chose the piece he liked best, but he quipped [that he liked] "All of them!"

His first directorial effort, "Nasi Lemak 2.0" has raked in RM 7 million since its release in September this year.

However, due to its exclusion from the tax rebate list, Wee stated that not much was left after paying the entertainment tax (20%), GSC (government taxes and service charges) (55%) and distribution fees (15%), excluding expenses and marketing costs.

The remaining sum was shared between Wee, the artistes and crew, who agreed to the low payments.

"Nasi Lemak 2.0", which also stars Wee, was nominated for Best Film (Non-Malay) at the Malaysian Film Festival.

On the other hand, this news did not lighten up Wee's mood. Wee was quite disappointed with the nomination as this would mean that the movie is prevented from competing in other categories.

But Wee has no regrets shooting his movie this way. In fact, when asked if his upcoming movie would be purposely shot in the manner that adhered to the regulations in order for him to get the rebate on entertainment tax, Wee said "No".

"I will go accordingly to the script and do whatever needed."
