29 June – In conjunction with the release of "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" movie, Paramount Pictures has introduced "TF3: Defend the Earth" App that lets iPhone and iPod users to experience a full blown 360 degree gaming reality as Optimus Prime, according to a press statement recently released by United International Pictures.
To play, one needs download the free App through the App store, and then aim their device's camera at any official "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" poster to activate Optimus Prime, as it then allows players to immerse into an alternate virtual reality. Using the device's accelerometer and compass, players can fight the evil forces of Decepticons as they try to save Earth on multiple levels. Initially once the App is downloaded, it allows users to locate the closest theatres that have exclusive interactive posters on display. Once the experience is activated, users are able to play the 360 degree virtual game from their handheld device and compete with gamers on a global level while sharing high-scores through their Facebook pages. However as the interactive posters are only available in the US region, Malaysian and Singaporean fans are also able to join in the fun simply by scanning the official "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" posters found online or at the cinemas with their devices to activate the game. "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" is currently playing at cinemas in Malaysia and also Singapore.
