Palarae's directional piece tells the story of Rahul, played by Azad Jazmin, who travels to Kuala Lumpur all the way from India to find work and live the coveted city life. The first story also features Mano Maniam and Radhi Khalid.
Besides him, the other two directors who took on the director's chair for the two other short stories are Shiekh Munasar and Rozi Izma Abdul Karim.

When Bront Palarae was asked his feelings towards gala premieres and red carpet events like at yesterday night's "Kolumpo" premiere, he confessed that he feels uncomfortable.

"I feel like I'm a bit awkward at red carpet events, but if my film does well and it is received well I don't really mind it anymore," said Palarae, "I don't really care where the place is, because the feelings are always the same and it is satisfying!"

"Kolumpo" is a Malaysian anthology film which compiles three multilingual short stories about the common themes of life, hopes and dream set in the city of Kuala Lumpur.

The film will be shown in cinemas on 5 December 2013.
