9 Sep – Who would have thought that Magneto would officiate Professor X's marriage? But it did happen, as Sir Ian McKellen is the minister for his close friend and co-star Sir Patrick Stewart's marriage to his jazz singer girlfriend. The "X-Men: Days Of Future Past" actor was proud to wed Patrick to singer-songwriter Sunny Ozell and shared the news via Facebook on Sunday. He posted a photo of him holding a shirt with the word "Minister" and a certificate of the couple's marriage. However, earlier that day, the 73-year-old groom has already spread the good news via Twitter. According to US Weekly, the couple are already enjoying their honeymoon.
Last March, 74-year-old McKellen announced that he will officiate Stewart's wedding on "The Jonathan Ross Show". Apparently the "The Hobbit" star has had experience being a minister before. "I'm going to marry Patrick," he said. "I am going to officiate at his wedding." Patrick met his 35-year-old spouse at the Brooklyn Academy Of Music in 2008 and the two have been in a relationship since then. He has two children from his previous marriage with Shelia Falconer, which lasted from 1966 to 1990 and was married to Wendy Neuss from 2000 to 2003. Both actors are set to reprise their roles in the upcoming "X-Men: Days Of Future Past", written and directed by Bryan Singer. The premise of the film is about a battle that spans across two time periods with the X-Men from the original trilogy teaming up with the X-Men from "X-Men: First Class." The film is due to release in 2014.
