1 Aug – Taiwanese singer-songwriter Wang Lee-Hom has been cast as the lead character for Magic Storm Entertainment's adaptation of comic legend Stan Lee's "Annihilator". The "Annihilator" tells the story of a young Chinese man, Ming, who must choose between remaining in prison or enlist in a secret United States super soldier program. The film has been described by Stan Lee as an expatriate who returns from the U.S. to his hometown to exact justice and right past wrongs. The superhero comic, created specifically for the Chinese market was written by Stan Lee and Dan Gilroy and will be set in China.
As of now, the movie is being developed by producer Barry Josephson ("Wild Wild West") with the script penned by Dan Gilroy ("The Bourne Legacy"). A director for the film has yet to be announced. The talented star who is fluent in both English and Chinese, had also recently tried his hand in directing the romantic comedy "Love in Disguise", which went on to become a huge success in China. Lee-Hom is currently filming the action thriller film "Cyber" from Michael Mann alongside Chris Hemsworth and Tang Wei.
