"Ted 2" in the works

Mark Wahlberg will reprise his role as John Bennett in "Ted 2".

24 Jan – Looks like Seth MacFarlane still has a lot of amusing stories to tell about the crude yet cuddly teddy bear as he is set to bring "Ted" back onto the screens with a sequel confirmed, bringing back Mark Wahlberg who will also reprise his role, according to Total Film.

"There is a "Ted 2". We've already locked a deal and they're off writing now. I've never done a sequel before but I just have so much confidence in Seth. He's such a talented, funny guy," Wahlberg recently revealed.

The 41-year-old star will also appear at this year's Academy Awards in February with his famous cuddly sidekick.

"Because Seth is hosting the Oscars, me and Ted will be appearing at the Oscars," he said.

Reaching a critical and commercial success, "Ted" was one of the highest grossing films in the United States last year and it gained US$508 million at the worldwide box office.

Wahlberg's latest film is "Broken City", which has the actor playing ex-cop Billy Taggart, who is up against an evil mayor played by Russell Crowe to seek for revenge and redemption. He will next be seen in Michael Bay's anticipated muscle man film "Pain And Gain", alongside "The Rock" Dwayne Johnson and is also locked down for a brand new "Transformers" trilogy.

Making its way ahead of the line, Wahlberg's "Pain And Gain" will be released in Malaysia and Singapore on 1 May 2013.
