2 Jul – The sequel for the 2007 Disney award-winning film, "Enchanted" is finally moving on when Deadlines reported that Disney studio has signed J. David Stem and David N. Weiss, notable for their works in the animated films, "The Smurfs" and "Shrek 2" to pen the film. According to Deadlines, "Enchanted 2" will be helmed by the director of "Step Up" and "27 Dresses", Anne Fletcher and produced by the producer of the first "Enchanted", Barry Josephson and Barry Sonnenfeld. The first "Enchanted" film was a huge box office success having earned more than USD340 million worldwide. The film also won the 2007 Saturn Awards for Best Fantasy Motion Picture, received two nominations at the 65th Golden Globe Awards and three nominations at the 80th Academy Awards. Disney musical "Enchanted" tells the story about an archetypal Disney Princess, Giselle played by Amy Adams who crosses over from her animated homeland, Andalasia into the live-action world of New York city. The film also starred Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden, Susan Sarandon, Timothy Spall and Idina Menzel.
So far, there is no release date for the film and it is still unclear if any of the original cast will return for the sequel.
