23 Apr – The Avengers have assembled once again in "Avengers: Age of Ultron". Released today, the movie is one of the most anticipated for the month of April (if not the year 2015). Anticipation for the movie begun long before it even hit the big screen, prompting local cinema chains to start selling the tickets as early as February this year. MBO Cinemas started the advance ticket sales for the movie since Chinese New Year, initially with one hall per location. Klang Valley, Johor, Sabah and Sarawak were the top locations that saw a swift sale of tickets. Due to the overwhelming response, especially since early birds also received free limited edition Avengers keychains, the sneak peak showtime past midnight have been increased up to eight shows at some locations on 22 April. Starting from today onward, MBO Cinemas will also be bringing back the unique "Same Show Every 20 Mins" during peak hours for "Avengers: Age of Ultron".
For TGV Cinemas, the advance ticket sales started from 17 February. Klang Valley and IMAX locations sold the fastest. For the opening weekend, most of the prime showtimes are already packed. "Director Joss Whedon has taken great pains and effort to create a movie that is detailed, filled with non-stop action and a feast to the senses," said TGV Cinemas Senior Marketing Manager Celeste Koay. "Such a movie should be enjoyed and experienced in its entirety on a big screen surrounded with like-minded fans and movie lovers." "And furthermore the experience of watching the movie in IMAX 3D is just mind blowing and draws the audience into the movie, making it all the more a must see in TGV Cinemas' Maybank-IMAX halls." Distributed locally by Walt Disney Pictures, "Avengers: Age of Ultron" stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Cobie Smulders, Samuel L. Jackson, James Spader, Elizabeth Olsen and Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
