Adam Levine takes on big screen role in "The Clapper"

Adam Levine is joining comedy movie, "The Clapper".

8 Jun – Maroon 5 lead vocalist Adam Levine is making a return to the silver screen with his second big screen role to date.

The singer-turned-actor has done cameo roles for the past years, following his big screen debut back in 2013, but according to The Wrap, this time he will be taking on the role of a movie producer in indie comedy, "The Clapper".

Levine is set to play a character named Ralph Ranter in the movie based on author-director Dito Montiel's book of the same name. Montiel himself will be directing and writing the script for the movie.

Levine will be joining a star-studded cast that includes Amanda Seyfried, Tracy Morgan, Russell Peters, Ed Helms, Leah Remini, P.J. Byrne and Mickey Gouch, Jr.

"The Clapper" follows a professional clapper (Helms), who gets noticed by a late night talk-show host (Peters) but his decision to join the show eventually costs him his job and relationship, mostly thanks to the producer (Levine) in charge of running the late night show.

No release date has been set for "The Clapper".

Levine made his feature acting debut in 2013's "Begin Again" (previously titled "Can A Song Save Your Life?") opposite Keira Knightley.

The 37-year-old, who has been a judge on reality television singing competition "The Voice" for the past 10 seasons, has also made cameo roles in several 2015 movies including "Pitch Perfect 2".

See Levine playing himself, again, in the coming soon comedy, "Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping".
