23 Dec – "The Grand Budapest Hotel" director, Wes Anderson, is back to direct another stop motion film titled "Isle of Dogs". The filmmaker in a YouTube video, revealed the star-studded cast and also showed the first look and snippets of the film. The grand cast list for the movie includes Oscar Nominee Jeff Goldblum, veteran actor Bob Balaban, "Birdman" star Edward Norton, and "Godzilla" actor Bryan Cranston among others. Also co-starring in the film is "Dr Strange" actress Tilda Swinton and Oscar award winner Bill Murray.
There are several Japanese artists involved in the film as well such as Kunichi Nomura, Akira Ito, Akira Takayama, Koyu Rankin and Yoko Ono. This is in-line with Goldblum's statement who in an interview with Nerdist told that the movie is inspired from a Japanese tale. Goldblum also confirmed that he, together with Edward Norton and co would play the characters of a pack of dogs in the upcoming movie. Wes Anderson who had a relatively quiet year, with his recent H&M short film putting him in the spotlight again, is expected to deliver another exciting stop motion film after his last stop-motion feature, "The Fantastic Mr. Fox" received rapturous response from both the audience and the critics.
