14 Apr – Warner Bros' upcoming remake of "The Bodyguard" has now found someone to take over the director's seat and that someone is concert feature director, Sam Wrench. Wrench, who has helmed many a documentary and live event content, is most known for his concert features including "BTS: Permission to Dance on Stage", "Billie Eilish Live at the 02", as well as "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour".
The film, which will be a new version of the 1992 movie starring acclaimed singer Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner, will be written by Jonathan Abrams ("Juror #2"). The original revolves around a former Secret Service agent (Costner), who is hired to protect a singer (Houston) from a stalker. It marked Houston's first film and featured the late singer's version of Dolly Parton's "I Will Always Love You". In 2012, she died in her room at the Beverly Hilton Hotel of accidental drowning. The movie was also made into a stage adaptation, which was shown in London's West End in 2012.
