12 Feb – Everybody's favourite psychopathic killer doll Chucky is celebrating his 30th anniversary on TV! The TV series will be directed by none other than Don Mancini, the same director who helmed the last three movies in the franchise: "Seed of Chucky", "Curse of Chucky" and "Cult of Chucky". Mancini announced that he and producer David Kirschner are currently developing the "Child's Play" TV series, as reported by Bloody Disgusting. "We plan to use "Child's Play" in the title," said Mancini. "We want to definitely signal that we are going dark, darker than ever before. It's going to be very creepy." The series will consist of eight hour-long episodes. David Kirschner, meanwhile, said that the series is not a reboot, but rather a continuation to the story of the last movie, 2017's "Cult of Chucky". The story of the series is intentionally set up after the events of the seventh movie and Brad Dourif, voice actor of Chucky, will be coming back to voice the possessed doll once again. Coming from the same generation of horror icons such as Freddy Krueger ("A Nightmare on Elm Street"), Jason Voorhees ("Friday the 13th") and Michael Myers ("Halloween"), Chucky is one of the few remaining characters of the older generations to still strike fear into the hearts of many until this day.
