21 Aug – "Hantu Kak Limah" continues to haunt the box office in Malaysia, this time setting yet another impressive record since its release on 9 August. In just 11 days, the horror comedy has collected RM20.5 million at the box office, making it now the highest grossing local movie ever. It breaks the record previously held by another Astro Shaw movie, the Skop Productions title "Abang Long Fadil 2", which took in RM19.04 million after 28 days of screening in Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei. This makes "Hantu Kak Limah" not only the highest grossing but also the fastest to reach the RM20 million milestone, doing so in less than two weeks. Executive producer Dato' Khairul Anwar Salleh, Gayatri Su-lin and TP Lim, as well as director Mamat Khalid and the movie's cast and crew expressed their gratitude in a press statement, thanking Malaysian, Bruneian and Singaporean audiences, media and distributor for the movie's latest success.
Even before its official release, the movie already set a record with its RM650 thousand collection during its sneak previews on 8 August. The next day, it set the record for the highest opening day collection as it made RM1.8 million. As of 12 August, the movie broke another record, collecting RM9 million and making it the first local movie to reach the milestone after just 4 days. A week after its release, the movie had become the highest grossing local movie of 2018 with its RM13.6 million collection. Produced by Astro Shaw and Infinitus Gold, "Hantu Kak Limah" stars Dato' Awie, Delimawati, Zul Ariffin, Uqasha Senrose, Ropie, Allahyarham Rab Khalid, Mus May, Sharwani, TJ Isa and Jue Aziz, with special appearances by Erra Fazira and Dato' Seri Vida. "Hantu Kak Limah" is now still showing in 146 cinemas.
