22 Nov – Months after it was reported that there will be an autobiographical film about American rock band Journey's Arnel Pineda, the singer recently revealed more information about the said project. As reported on Manila Bulletin, the singer, who spoke to the media at the press conference of his upcoming Valentine's Day concert, "Let It Love, Let It Rock", stated that he has already met with American screenwriter Scott Silver to discuss his life story.
It is noted that the Oscar-nominated Silver has written for movies like "8 Mile", "The Fighter", and the more recent "Joker", that received critical acclaim and is the first R rated film to gross more than USD1 billion at the global box office. "I need to get into a lot of details [about my life]. They're going to explore about my mother's illness, what we went through, like how we were evicted from our house because we couldn't afford it, up to my mother's passing," he said, adding that they will also go through several other moments in his life like the time he and his band joined the Yamaha World Band Explosion. It was last December that Hollywood filmmaker Jon M. Chu of "Crazy Rich Asians" fame revealed that he plans to helm a biopic about Pineda's rags-to-riches story.
