8 Jul – Now that cinemas in Malaysia are slowly reopening, following months of closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic, actress Erra Fazira wants to make sure that moviegoers feel safe returning to them. The "Wangi" actress took to her Instagram today to post a series of photos that showed herself and a few fellow actors filming a PSA for FINAS, judging by the post's hashtags.
Cinemas in Malaysia were temporarily shuttered since 18 March when the Movement Control Order (MCO) was enforced. It was only on 22 of last month that it was announce cinemas would be allowed to resume operations as of 1 July 2020. All cinema staff and patrons are required to follow safety protocols that include wearing mask, using the hand sanitizer provided, checking temperature and practicing gap seating.
