21 Jul – Aishwarya Rai got fans excited by sharing the first poster of her upcoming Tamil movie, "Ponniyin Selvan Part: One".

The actress, whose last Tamil movie was the 2010 film, "Enthiran", shared the said poster, which only features a sword and an armour with a tiger in its centre, on Instagram on 19 July.

She wrote, "The Golden Era comes to Life. Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan PS1."


Aishwarya captioned this in her social media: "The Golden Era comes to Life.

The movie also marks Aishwarya's fourth collaboration with the said director, who helmed her 2007 and 2010 movies, "Guru" and "Raavan", as well as her debut film, "Iruvar" in 1997.

"Ponniyin Selvan", which is based on the Kalki Krishnamurthy historical novel of the same name, boasts of a star-studded cast that includes Vikram, Karthi, Trisha Krishnan, Prakash Raj, Jayaram, Jayam Ravi and Aishwarya Lekshmi among others.

It is noted that Aishwarya has not starred in many films in recent years, with her last Hindi movie, "Fanney Khan" released back in 2018.
