12 Aug - Akiva Goldsman is annoyed and wants people to stop linking his movie, "I Am Legend" to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The screenwriter, who penned the said movie in 2007, recently reposted a tweet about an article from the New York Times about an optical company making efforts to get its staff members vaccinated.

In the same article, one staff expressed his concern that the COVID-19 vaccine will turn people into zombies a la said film.

(Do note that the zombies from "I Am Legend" did not become zombies because of vaccines, if you haven't watched the movie yet!)

"Oh. My. God. It's a movie," Goldsman tweeted on Monday. "I made that up. It's. Not. Real."

The post-apocalyptic movie, which was loosely based on the 1954 novel of the same name by Richard Matheson, stars Will Smith as US Army virologist Robert Neville who works to develop a cure while defending himself against a hoard of nocturnal mutants called Darkseekers that was brought on by a genetically reprogrammed virus.

Oh, well. People will believe in anything these days!
