18 Oct – Following Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson have recently taken to social media to mourn the loss of veteran actor Robbie Coltrane. Grint, who played the role of Ron Weasley in the "Harry Potter" franchise, shared a photo of Coltrane as Hagrid on his social media account, and expressed, "Heartbroken to hear that Robbie is gone. I'll never forget the smell of cigars and beard glue- a wonderful combination." "No one else on this planet could of played Hagrid, only Robbie. Just as Hagrid was in the books and films, Robbie was in life- warm, compassionate and hilarious. A giant hearted man who was still looking out for us even decades later. Sending love to his family. See you on the other side Bobser."
On the other hand, Watson, who played Hermione Granger, expressed her sadness via Instagram Story, writing, "Robbie was like the most fun uncle I've ever had, but most of all, he was deeply caring and compassionate towards me as a child and an adult." "His talent was so immense that it made sense he played a giant - he could fill ANY space with his brilliance." It is noted that Daniel Radcliffe earlier released a statement regarding the passing, saying that Coltrane was one of the funniest people who would keep the children's spirit up throughout the filming of the said franchise. The three "Harry Potter" actors worked with Coltrane since the first film, while they were still kids. Coltrane passed away late last week at the age of 72.
