7 Aug – "Barbarian Invasion" has recently won two accolades at the 6th ASEAN International Film Festival and Awards.

The film, produced by Da Huang Pictures and Greenlight Pictures and directed by Tan Chui Mui, beat six other films namely "Before, Now & Then" from Indonesia, "Ginhawa" (Filipina), "Prebet Sapu" (Malaysia), "Kargo" (Filipina), "Perjalanan Pertama" (Malaysia & Indonesia) and "Duan Nago Bogho" (Malaysia).

In addition to the main award for Best Film, the movie, which also stars Pete Teo, Bront Palarae, James Lee and Zhiny Ooi, won the Best Screenplay category as well.

"Thank you for the acknowledgement. Many thanks to all the casts, crews and everyone who has supported us throughout the process. The film is releasing in China and Singapore cinemas this month! Come to catch us if you are there," the movie's official social media post read.

This is not the first accolade for the movie, which previously won the Jury Grand Prix trophy at the Golden Goblet Awards in conjunction with the 24th Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) in Shanghai, China.
