19 May – It was reported that Eddie Murphy is in talks to star in the MGM comedy, "Pink Panther". As reported on THR, the actor is currently negotiating to play the role of Inspector Clouseau in the new movie, which will be helmed by Jeff Fowler of "Sonic the Hedgehog" fame. It was reported that the upcoming project will be a live-action/CG hybrid movie, with the Inspector and the Panther teaming up for the first time ever on the big screen.
It is noted that the last "Pink Panther" movie was released in 2007, and starred Steve Martin in the role of Inspector Clouseau. He is among several actors who have played the role, including Alan Arkin, Roger Moore, and the most famous of them all - Peter Sellers. Murphy was last seen in the Netflix movie, "You People", and will be seen next in "Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley", where he will reprise his popular 1980's role as the titular police officer.
