10 Mar – There is a possibility that Jenna Ortega could star in the sequel to Tim Burton's 1988 hit, "Beetlejuice". Multiple sources stated that the actress is now in early talks of reuniting with Tim Burton, the creator of her hit Netflix show, "Wednesday", and that Warner Bros. is hoping to begin production as early as late May or early June in London. If everything comes to fruition, Ortega will play the daughter of Lydia Deetz, the latter played by Winona Ryder in the original.
It is also said that both Michael Keaton, who played the titular character, as well as Winona Ryder herself, are expected to reprise the role in the upcoming Burton feature. Ortega has been on the roll since "Wednesday" became a hit on Netflix, with the Wednesday Dance becoming a viral sensation among social media users. The actress will be hosting "Saturday Night Live" on 11 March, and will be seen next in "Scream VI". The original "Beetlejuice" revolves around deceased couple Adam and Barbara (Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis), who seek help of bio-exorcist Betelgeuse to scare away a new family from moving into their home. The Tim Burton movie made around USD 74.7 million from a USD 15 million budget.
