7 Jun – Michael Keaton wants you to know that you don't have to worry about the sequel to his hit 1988 movie, "Beetlejuice", as it has all the ingredients of the original. The actor, who will return as the pesky freelance "bio-exorcist" in the upcoming Tim Burton project, shared that he has been having a lot of fun doing the movie. "It's so fun, it's so great. And you know what it is? We're doing it exactly like we did the first movie," he said, in an interview with Empire. "There's a woman in the great waiting room for the afterlife literally with a fishing line - I want people to know this because I love it - tugging on the tail of a cat to make it move."
Keaton also stated that he and Burton had actually been talking about a sequel for many years now, and that they both promised each other that the project will be done as close to the way they made it the first time. "Making stuff up, making stuff happen, improvising and riffing, but literally handmade stuff like people creating things with their hands and building something," he enthused. "F***** great. It's the most fun I've had working on a movie in I can't tell you how long." The upcoming movie, which will be released in September 2024, also sees the return of Winona Ryder and Catherine O'Hara, and the additions of Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci, and Jenna Ortega, the latter who starred in Burton's Netflix series, "Wednesday" and will play Ryder's character Lydia Deetz's daughter.
