18 Dec - The Sivakarthikeyan-starrer "Amaran" is now one of the highest grossing Indian movies in Malaysia.

The Tamil-language biographical action war film, which hit Malaysian screens back in October, has now accumulated RM 12.27 million at the box office in the country, making it the seventh biggest film to hail from India.

"Amaran" was released in October
It is noted that the biggest Indian movie in Malaysia is still "Dilwale", which accumulated RM 15.68 million when it was released in Malaysia in 2015. The success most probably due to the reunion between Shah Rukh Khan and his leading lady Kajol.

Meanwhile, the second and third place go to Vijay's "GOAT" as well as Rajinikanth's "Jailer".

"Amaran", which is Sivakarthikeyan's 24th film, has him playing Major Mukund Varadarajan, an Indian Army officer and a recipient of the Ashoka Chakra who was posthumously awarded for his actions during a counterterrorism operation in Jammu and Kashmir.
