The actor, who told the media that he plans to retire after a few more movies back in August, shared with Australia's "Today" during the promo tour for "Gladiator II" that director Ryan Coogler is writing him a role in the third film of the said Marvel title, as he revealed the projects that will be doing in the future. "I played Othello at 22. I am about to play Othello at 70," he said, referring to the Shakespeare production that will open on Broadway in February 2025. "After that, I am playing Hannibal. After that, I've been talking to Steve McQueen about a film." "After that, Ryan Coogler is writing a part for me in the next 'Black Panther.' Denzel also stated that he is only interested in working with the best at this point of his career. "I don't know how many more films I'm going to make. It's probably not that many.
