3 Apr – Veteran actor, comedian and host, Jaafar Onn has recently passed away. The 73-year-old was revealed to have breathed his last at Hospital Sultan Idris Shah in Serdang, at approximately 11.30am on the morning of 3 April. The news of Jaafar's departure, or his real name, Jaafar Onn Awang, was confirmed by his adopted son, Mohamad Hanif Hashim, who previously shared about Jaafar's hospitalisation. The comedian was rushed to the hospital on 2 April after finding blood in his stool.
Jaafar's health had started to deteriorate since last year, with him being wheelchair-bound for the past six months due to his heart issues that led to the swelling of his legs. Jaafar started his showbiz career as part of a dance troupe in the 1970s, before he was offered to join a cooking show by RTM in 1973. Throughout his career, he had starred in various movies and TV dramas, including "Penyu", "Rock", "18 Puasa Di Kampung Pisang", as well as the beloved 90s TV shows, "Cili Padi" and "Sambal".
