19 Mar - Despite mixed reviews, "Kung Fu Panda 4" continues to fight its way to the top at the US box office, as it dethrones "Dune: Part Two" in its second week of release.

The DreamWorks animated feature made USD 30 million in its second week in theatres, bringing a total of USD 107.7 million in the US alone. Meanwhile, it has grossed USD68.6 million internationally, bringing a global cumulation of USD 176.4 million.

On the other hand, "Dune: Part Two", now in its third week of release, earned another USD 19.1 million in the US, bringing a total of USD 494.7 million globally.

"Dune: Part Two" surpasses the success of its predecessor
It has already surpassed the success of the first film, which made USD 434.8 million when it was released in 2021. The movie is predicted to end its run with a global taking of USD 600 million.

Despite both films' successes, they will face more competition in the coming weeks, what with the release of Sony's "Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire" and Legendary's "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire".

"Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire" to be released on 22 March
