18 Jul - Michael Mann recently shared an update about the sequel to his hit 1995 film, "Heat", saying that he is currently writing the screenplay.

The writer and filmmaker, who spoke to Los Angeles Times, said that he plans to shoot the sequel at the end of the year or early 2025, though kept mum about the cast.

Earlier, it was rumoured that Adam Driver might be taking over the role of Neil McCauley (originally played by Robert De Niro), after working with Mann on his latest film, "Ferrari".

Mann was also full of praises for the actor while working on "Ferrari" last year, saying that the two of them have the same work ethics.

It is noted that "Heat 2" the novel was released in 2022, written by Mann and crime novelist Meg Gardiner. It serves as both the prequel and sequel of the original.
