7 Apr - Malaysian actor Frankie Lee (Lee Sai Peng) has recently passed away.

The news was first revealed by cinema chains GSC and TGV, with the former writing, "Even in his seventies, #FrankieLee brought unwavering passion and dedication to his craft, touching the hearts of countless audiences. May he rest in peace."

The actor was most known for his performance in the hit 2014 film, "The Journey", which garnered him his first Best Actor accolade at the 27th Malaysian Film Festival.

It is noted that Frankie was the first Chinese Malaysian to win the said honour.

The actor's last performance was in 2020's "Fight Lah! Kopitiam" and "Showtime 1958". He also played a role in the hit 2016 movie, "Ola Bola".

He was 85.
